Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon was established on 27 February 1975 when the “Vocational Education and Technology College” Act was announced on the Royal Gazette and came into force. The Act aimed to create vocational teachers with a bachelor’s degree to teach vocational education at vocational level, undergraduate level, and advanced vocational certificate level.

Ubon Ratchathani University (UBU) was founded in 1987 as a regional campus of Khon Kaen University and established as a university by Royal Charter in 1990. It aims to provide educational opportunities for students from all provinces and specifically those from provinces in North-East Thailand, Amnat Charoen, Mukdahan, Nakhon Phanom, Sakon Nakhon, Si Sa Ket, Ubon Ratchathani, and Yasothon. Kasem Bundit University was founded after a series of educational establishment by a team of educational administrators with prior experiences in primary and secondary educational administration. In 1960, Kasem Phithaya School was established in 1960, offering classes from Prathom 1 to Matayom 6. Later on in 1968, Kasem Polytechnic College was founded, offering classes from Certificate in Vocational Education (Cert. Voc), Diploma in Vocational Education (Dip. Voc), and Diploma in Technology (Dip. Voc.), with various majors ranging from Business Administration, Accountancy, Management, Finance, Banking, Marketing, Secretarianship to Computer Science. With idealism and determination to take a further step in establishing tertiary education, they eventually founded “Kasem Bundit College” on February 24th, 1987.

North-Chiang Mai University was established in 1999 by Mr.Narong Chavasint, the Founder and President with the intention of repaying to his birth-place, Chiang Mai and to celebrate the Golden Jubilee of His Majesty King Bhumibol the Great. Panyapiwat Institute of Management or PIM (formerly Panyapiwat Institute of Technology) is an institution of higher education founded with the funding from Sueksapiwat Company Limited. On 9 March 2007, PIM was granted the permission and license for the establishment of Private University [License No.4/2550] by the Ministry of Education through the Office of the Higher Education Commission and has since been operating as a higher education institution, offering fully accredited bachelor’s and master’s degree programs since 1 June 2007 and doctoral degree programs since 1 October 2012.
